Have owned Asolo in the past. Well built shoe, waterproof and fits well. No long breaking in period. Comfortable from day one with good solid support without being clunky. The extra long lace eyelets really let you custom fit the shoe. Plus looks great for city walking but functions well as a light to medium hiking shoe. Not heavy at all. Going forward, I start with the Asolo brand first for hiking and walking shoes. Own about 4 pairs for various activities. You get good quality for the cost.Good look, good fit, but if you're taking these anywhere but on clean pavement, don't expect them to last. You might've heard how durable Asolo shoes are from satisfied customers, but please note they likely bought Asolos "in the past". Much of Asolo's production has shifted to low cost providers and it shows. These shoes started falling apart after a year of use with the glue coming apart at the sole and the inner stitching coming loose. If you're looking for durability I'd look into the more expensive brands like Scarpa or if you're okay with a just-for-a-year shoe you can get cheaper Merrells (which in some cases actually last longer than a year).Super comfortable. Awesome shoeBeen wearing around the house only & they broke-in in 2 days. Very comfortable as soon as I put them on. I am 5'10" 160 Lbs. size 9.5 M. I have been relying on the Vibram brand sole since the 60s. They have never let me down.To me, this is a shoe, not a boot, because it is low cut w/o any ankle support. I would not use them on a rocky trail. Very good craftsmanship, made in Vietnam, my first pair of Asolo & won't be my last. I was skeptical about the bowling ball look but got over it real fast. I highly recommend them. These shoes have a very simplistic look. They’re not flashy, but the fit and feel is something you rarely get from chinese made products. I don’t mean to insult the producer, these are made in Vietnam and the feel they have on your feet is noteworthy. Very comfortable shoes with laces that stay tied. The more I wear them, the better they feel. I fully recommend these.I was looking for a trail shoe that is waterproof and doesn't look like an ugly over-designed blingy basketball shoe when I saw the Asolo Space GV. Really like the clean old-school all-leather look. Since I don't have particularly large feet for my height the extended lacing doesn't look too clownish on me. (This might not be the case for everyone, as they do look quite long.) Most importantly they seem extremely well made and are very comfortable on my foot. I often run between a 10.5 and 11 and the 10.5 is great — no toe jamming or crowding in the toe box. The shoes are much lighter than they look and they feel light on the foot, but also very solid and stable. I saw one review that said the soles are thin and that you feel every rock under foot. I don't get that sense at all. Of course, they are shoes, not hiking boots, but they have a surprisingly rugged and protective feel, but very light and also a nice glove like fit, at least for me. Been wearing them regularly for several months and still love them. I will be ordering another pair soon, to keep on hand, before they get discontinued. My only caveat is the laces are a bit too long and get caught on things easily. I eventually trimmed off a couple inches and melted the ends to prevent fraying.Rugged, solid, good traction. Laces were excessively long and the color of the “tongue” was lighter than expected. Gives it a bit of a bowling shoe look.Have had these for a few weeks now and I’m super impressed. I’m 55 and so I’ve been through a lot of hiking shoes - Garmont was my go-to for years but the last pair fell apart with moderate use so it was time for a change. So far these seem much nicer than the Garmonts.
